“I was tired of doing the same old exercises at the gym and I was losing my energy to workout because I didn’t have a specific goal to motivate me. I started tossing around the idea of training for a triathlon in order to give me focus. After I talked to Ryan about doing a triathlon, I decided to sign-up for his 12 week online training program to help me get ready. I couldn’t wait to get started! I told Ryan that my goals were to complete a sprint triathlon, increase physical strength, and maintain my body weight. He sent me my first workout via email, along with a meal plan. At the end of each week I would report back to him and he would tailor my next week’s workout. It was great to have a custom workout plan each week and to be accountable to someone other than myself, while at the same time having the flexibility of completing the workouts when they fit best in my schedule. The meal plan helped me to focus on what I was eating and to make sure that I was eating enough for the training I was doing. It was time consuming at first to plan out all of my meals and to measure my food, but once I got the hang of it, it really helped me to make smart food choices. After 12 weeks of exchanging emails with Ryan, working out at the gym, and eating according to my meal plan, I completed the River City Days triathlon in Chaska; physically, I was a lot stronger and my endurance had improved greatly; and I maintained my body weight, yet went down a dress size.
